Anthony KirklandCINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - Attorneys have begun the jury selection process in the trial of suspected serial killer Anthony Kirkland.
Kirkland is headed to trial for the murders of Esme Kenney, Kimya Rolison, Casonya Crawford and Mary Jo Newton. If convicted, he could get the death penalty.
Much still has to happen before a potential conviction comes, and the wheels of the trial are already in motion. Earlier this month, lawyers from the defense and the prosecution began disqualifying prospective jurors from a pool of 600 people.
Now, the selection is down to 180 potential jurors. When it's all said and done, 12 jurors will be chosen along with 2 alternates.
Attorneys will select jurors for most of the day on Friday.
Opening arguments are set for Wednesday.
