INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - The Indiana Fever have lost guard Erin Phillips for four to six weeks with a torn meniscus in her right knee. Phillips started 9 of Indiana's 10 postseason games last season, averaging 10.1 points in the playoffs. The team previously announced that guard Jeanette Pohlen won't be ready for Friday's season opener.
(AP) - WNBA rookie Skylar Diggins will have a new ride when she joins the Shock in Tulsa. Diggins said on Twitter that sports agency Roc Nation, back by rapper Jay-Z, surprised her with a new Mercedes. The former Notre Dame star was chosen No. 3 overall in the WNBA draft by Tulsa.
NEW YORK (AP) - Helio Castroneves and Dario Franchitti will both try for their fourth Indianapolis 500 title on Sunday. Rick Mears, A.J. Foyt and Al Unser are the only three drivers with four Indy 500 victories. Castroneves says it's an "incredible opportunity for the fans to have not only one but two guys trying to make history."
