HAMILTON, OH (FOX19)-- Hamilton Police arrest a tag team that lured a man back from a bar to the suspect's home, then robbed him of everything he had on him -- turns out he victim and the suspect are neighbors.
911 CALL : "I got abducted by two young men that had on a red vest and a mask, they took my credit cards, took my cash, they put a knife to my head and they had a sledge hammer"
The victim, 45 year old John Hirsch, called 911 after he says he met 27-year-old Tabitha Windham at a local bar.
911 CALL :"I brought her home, and she set me up and got me robbed"
Police say the two went back to Windham's apartment around 2:00am Sunday morning, where her boyfriend 31-year-old William Fox and another man were hiding inside.
"They had a machete and a knife and robbed him right as he came in, so they were waiting," said Officer Richard Burkhardt of the Hamilton Police Department.
They took his credits cards, and cash authorities say, and the suspects then tried to steal Hirsch's car -- that's when he ran to his apartment right next door and called police.
"He could point right to where this happened, because he lives right next door, and officers went in, they found the first suspect, he was in the rafters in the basement hiding," Burkhardt said.
The victim didn't want to go on camera but says he feels blessed to be alive, police say it's a reminder, even for adults, about going home with strangers.
"Meet them somewhere, meet them at the mall, meet them at a restaurant, don't go to their house, you never know what person you might run into," Burkhardt said.
Hamilton police are still looking for that third suspect.
