CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Charleston Police are looking for Brandon Brown.
Brown, 28, is wanted on charges of financial credit card fraud in connection with a November, 2010 incident.
"During the course of the night Mr. Brown took a debit card that belonged to the resident of that particular department," said Charleston Police Cpl. Fred Bowie.
Investigators say somehow Brown got hold of the victim's personal identification number that was on the card.
"A lot of times people will write a PIN number down on the envelope containing the financial credit card. It happens that way," explained Bowie.
Police say Brown had some help during this crime, an accomplice who allegedly used the debit card for Brown.
Authorities say the accomplice withdrew $500 from the victim's bank account and spent $230 of that on merchandise.
"You invite somebody into your home and you'd better be certain about who you are inviting and how long you've known them and things like this," Bowie warned. "Just a casual overnight guest like that can really wreak havoc with you."
Brown stands 5'11" and weighs about 190 lbs.
His last known address was on Unity Hill in the town of Holly Hill.
If you have any information, call Crime Stoppers at 554-1111. You can remain anonymous and may earn a cash reward.
