Emily is a Cincinnati native! Born and raised on the West side, Emily is a 2002 graduate of Taylor High School in North Bend. Along with being a Yellowjacket, she is also an Otterbein Cardinal, class of '06 and a Northwestern Wildcat.
Emily received her Master's from the Medill School of Journalism in 2007, during her time at NU she interned and reported in Chicago and Washington, D.C. covering politics, immigration and crime.
Emily started her broadcasting career at KDRV/KDKF in Medford, Oregon as a reporter, anchor and producer. There she earned her first nomination for a Northwest Regional Emmy Award for environmental reporting on a three part series about water issues, river restoration and potential dam removal. She also had the opportunity to interview former First Lady Laura Bush, cover the search for Kyron Horman and every commissioner race in Southern Oregon.
Excited to be back in the Tri-State area, Emily is a Reds and Bearcats fan and likes her Skyline chilitos without onions and with extra crackers. A self-proclaimed reality TV fan, she is learning to cook and loves to dance. Email her story ideas or just to say hello at ewood@fox19.com
