COVINGTON, KY (FOX19) -

Two suspects were in court Tuesday for a high profile murder case in Covington.

Bond for Austin Eash, 21, and Tiffany Herrera, 27, was set at $500,000 each.

Each and Herrera are both facing charges of murder, tampering with evidence, theft, and abuse of a corpse for the murder of Donnell Brown. A male juvenile is also facing charges.

During Tuesday's hearing, investigators said Brown and Herrera would often meet, and he would give her drugs or money in exchange for a sex act.

The night of his death, Herrera said Brown got physical with her, so she cut his throat. She then called Eash and the juvenile, and Eash cut Brown's throat again.

They then dismembered Brown and tried to clean the apartment, leaving him in the bathtub.

Both Eash and the juvenile told investigators that they did not cause any injuries to Brown prior to his death, but admitted they abused him afterwards. Eash and the juvenile blamed each other for a stab wound to Brown's chest.

Investigators say they found three knives in Eash's and Herrera's apartment. The pair lived next to the apartment where Brown was killed, which was vacant at the time. Herrera had recently moved from that apartment to live with Eash.

Herrera and Eash are also accused of taking necklaces and rings that belonged to Brown and selling them at a gold shop. Police were able to recover three of the rings; a fourth ring that had 'Dad' engraved on it was recovered from Herrera's father.

Defense attorneys say Herrera had filed an emergency protective order against Brown, but investigators say their meeting the night of his death was mutual.

The court will decide later this month if the juvenile involved in the case will be turned over to adult court.
