A man was sentenced on Tuesday for the robbery of a United Dairy Farmers last July.
In July 2012, Delhi Police say Cody Meyers, 20, walked into the UDF located at 4905 Delhi Road and presented a note to the cashier demanding money. According to investigators, Meyer implied that he had a weapon, but it was never displayed.
According to authorities, Meyers asked the clerk for a piece of paper and a pen then wrote a note saying he needed all of the money or he would kill the clerk. Once he got the money from all three registers, he fled the store. Meyers then went into the Exxon in the 3100 block of Glenmore and once again passed a note demanding money and threatening to kill the clerk. Authorities stopped the suspects' vehicle in the 1800 block of Queen City shortly after the aggravated robbery. Charles Burnett, 23, was driving the car while Marcus Matthews, 19, split up the money from each robbery.
Meyers was charged with one count of aggravated robbery. The others were charged with complicity to aggravated robbery.
On Tuesday, Meyers was sentenced to seven years in prison.
