GREEN TOWNSHIP, OH (FOX19) -
Authorities are expected to release the name of a 68-year-old man who was killed by a member of the Hamilton County Special Response Team (SRT). The incident occurred Friday after a standoff at a home at Wesselman and Ebenezer Roads in Green Township.
Hamilton County Sheriff's Office Chief Deputy Sean Donovan says the man came to the home of a woman he knew around 6:00 p.m. Friday and fired several rounds into the rear door of her home. She told him to she was calling police and to go away. Green Township Police Officers responded and filed a report for Attempted Aggravated Burglary and Improper Discharge at a Habitation for the shooting.
Police got a second call around 8:30 p.m. saying the man was back and threatening suicide. The SRT was called in and surrounded the house. After a couple hours, the man came out and aimed a rifle at officers. One of the team members fired a single shot, killing the man.
The Sheriff's Office says they found several firearms and a hand grenade inside the home.
