Hamilton County, OH -
The Hamilton County Park District has designated spots in its parks for prime time meteor viewing this weekend. The Perseid meteor shower will be at its peak late Saturday, early Sunday this weekend.
Those interested in watching the shower can get the best seats in the house at a select few Hamilton County Parks from midnight until dawn. The Parks District says that the key to choosing the best areas is out in nature, with limited light pollution, so the parks are perfect.
These parks will be closed to the public, except for these designated viewing areas:
Otto Armleder Memorial Park & Recreation Complex (5057 Wooster Pike) at the soccer fields
Embshoff Woods (4050 Paul Road) at the Riverbirch shelter
Fernbank Park (50 Thorton Ave) at the Riverview shelter
Francis RecreAcres (11982 Conrey Road) at the soccer fields
Miami Whitewater Forest (9001 Mt. Hope Road) at the Harbor Overlook, and Shaker Trace lot
Mitchell Memorial Forest (5401 Zion Road) at the playground
Shawnee Lookout (2008 Lawrenceburg Road) at the Waterhole Meadow
Winton Woods (10245 Winton Road) at the Elmridge Overlook
Woodland Mound (8250 Old Kellogg Road) at the Weston shelter
