Frequent fliers could get through security faster at CVG

Posted: Updated:

The Transportation Security Administration is expanding its TSA Pre-Check program for passengers at the Greater Cincinnati Northern Kentucky International Airport this September.

TSA Pre-Check program is a pre-screening process for selected frequent fliers or for those who are enrolled in the U.S. Customs and Border Protection's (CBP) Global Entry program.  These passengers can move quickly through a designated security checkpoint lane at CVG without having to remove shoes, jackets, belts, laptops, and liquids from carry-on baggage.

"CVG welcomes the TSA Pre-Check program as another benefit for our passengers.  This program expedites the screening process for many travelers without compromising safety," says Candace McGraw, Chief Executive Officer at CVG.

Participants interested in joining the program can enroll in CBP's Global Entry Program. Global Entry is a CBP program that allows pre-approved, low-risk travelers, expedited entry into the United States. Participation in TSA Pre-Check and Global Entry involves an online application (20-40 minutes) and an interview with CBP (15 minutes). Individuals may apply at www.globalentry.gov. The cost of the application process is approximately $100 and is valid for 5 years.
