CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) -

Cincinnati Bell announced Tuesday that its customer care and call center technology partner, StarTek, Inc., is currently hiring up to 136 positions in the Tri-State Region.

In addition, the two companies have agreed to bring 200 call center positions to the region from overseas over the next 18 months.

"This transition will more than double the size of our local call center operation and will actually increase employment in the region," said Ted Torbeck, president of Cincinnati Bell Communications Group.  "This demonstrates our dedication to our customers and to the communities we serve."

Cincinnati Bell has maintained approximately 3,100 employees in the region over the past five years reflecting growth in fiber optics, data centers and IT consulting services.
