PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -
A group of men on their way to a photo shoot to raise awareness about breast cancer created quite a scare on the Burnside Bridge on Wednesday night.
Police received 911 calls reporting two men in a car armed with an assault rifle near the bridge at about 7 p.m.
When officers arrived, they said they found a group of 13 men with long beards dressed in military camouflage on the bridge.
Two of the men were holding onto a real military assault rifle and were arrested on charges of disorderly conduct and unlawful possession of a firearm.
The two men, identified as 36-year-old John Walterich and 29-year-old Anthony Quayle, were arrested, but police let the other 11 men go.
Quayle and Walterich were arraigned Thursday on the charge of unlawful possession of a firearm. They posted bail and were released.
Officers said the men were on their way to a photo shoot to raise awareness about breast cancer and investigators believe the gun was going to be used as a prop. Police later released photos of the gun, as well as the camouflage gear worn by the men arrested.
The Burnside Bridge reopened after about an hour-long closure.
