So you think Sunday and Labor Day were wet? The rainfall total for the two days at CVG, the official observation location, was 4.08".
Meteorological Summer 2012 was very dry and the total rainfall was only a small percent of the normal rainfall for that three-month period. Meteorological Summer consists of the months of June, July and August and the total rainfall was 4.07" which is 6.31" drier than normal. That total is only 32 percent of what is expected and less rain than fell during Sunday and Labor Day.
