WEST SPRINGFIELD, MA (WSHM) -
Saturday night, CBS 3 showed that traffic at the Big E seemed even greater than usual, and now we know why.
It was part of a record-setting day for the fair.
The Big E announced Saturday's attendance at 164,281.
It was the largest crowd ever for the ninth day of the fair.
On top of that, Big E officials told CBS 3 that it is the second largest one-day crowd in the history of the event, which began all the way back in 1916.
Also, that attendance number is close to 30,000 more people than the biggest day last year.
