CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) -
In a keynote address at the annual Ohio-Kentucky-Indiana Regional Council of Governments luncheon, The president of Duke Energy called for quick action on the Brent Spence Bridge project.
Julie Janson urged community leaders to partner together to focus on building a new Brent Spence Bridge faster and cheaper than planned.
"Our region must tackle the Brent Spence Bridge problem now," she said. "If we do not, congestion will choke our local economy, affecting our region's ability to attract and keep business and jobs."
Janson is also the chair of the board of directors and the Executive Committee of the Cincinnati USA Regional Chamber. She also leads the Build Our New Bridge Now coalition that is focused on keeping the bridge project moving forward.
Funding for the project is expected to be about $2.4 billion.
