WXIX will not be airing the Steelers vs. Eagles game on Sunday, October 7, 2012:
NFL rules must be followed and with this case in particular, the league imposes several strict television policies to ensure that stadiums are filled and sold out.
The NFL rules prohibit other NFL games from being shown on local television stations at the same time that a local team is playing a sold out home game.
The rules are designed to encourage ticket-holders to show up at the stadium instead of watching another game on television.
Due to the fact that the Bengals game is indeed sold out and they are playing a home game, Fox 19 is unable to legally air a different game, i.e. Steelers/Eagles game at the same time.
Chicago Bears (3-1) will be taking on the Jacksonville Jaguars (1-3) from EverBank Field at 4:00 p.m. and this game will be aired.
Thank you for your patience. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused our viewers.
