Regional police, fire and EMT public safety workers were honored at the eighth annual Beyond the Call recognition service on Thursday.
Cincinnati Christian University held the free event in the Worship and Ministry Center on the CCU campus.
CCU President DAvid Faust presented Beyond the Call awards to first responders who have gone the extra mile in service to the community. Awards were given in the categories of Bravery and Valor, Community Service and Problem Solving, Devotion and Duty and Career Achievement.
Local government officials, the Cincinnati Police Department's Honor Guard and the Hamilton County Sheriff Department's Bagpipe Corps were on hand for the event.
