LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – Rapper Lil Wayne has postponed his scheduled appearance at Jefferson Mall over the weekend due to what a Dillard's press release called "unpreventable circumstances."
The website tmz.com reported that Lil Wayne was treated for several hours at a Texas hospital on Thursday after he suffered "seizure-like symptoms" on a private jet. TMZ said the plane made an emergency landing because of the rapper's condition.
Lil Wayne was scheduled to appear at Jefferson Mall's Dillard's store on Saturday to launch his new clothing line TRUKFIT.
The press release states the appearance will be rescheduled and that customers who made qualifying purchases should keep their receipts and the wristbands they were given to them when they made their purchases to gain access to the rescheduled event.
In addition, Dillard's is offering to extend the opportunity for the public to attend the rescheduled appearance. The first 300 shoppers to purchase $150 or more in TRUKFIT apparel at a local Louisville Dillard's store will gain access to a VIP party at the Jefferson Mall store on the day Lil Wayne makes his appearance.
The press release says more details will be released when the rescheduled date for the appearance is confirmed.
