FORT MITCHELL, KY (FOX19) -

40 soldiers and their families who are stationed in Fort Bragg are now in the Tri-state for Veterans Day weekend.

The city of Fort Mitchell been supporting the service members of Bravo Company 2-504PIR since 2004 through their Adopt-A-Unit program.

Through the program, residents and businesses are able to send care packages to the soldiers while they are deployed overseas.

The City of Fort Mitchell will hold a parade at 9:30 a.m. on Friday from the corner of Beechwood Drive and Dixie Highway down to Beechwood School.  There will be classroom visits and a pep rally.

The soldiers will also be honored at the Beechwood football game Friday night.

On Saturday, the soldiers will do local business visits before having lunch at Ft. Mitchell Kroger. A potluck and games will follow at George Ormsby Park from 2-6 p.m.

Mayor Chris Weist will make a Proclamation at 5:00 p.m. at the park.
