BROOKVILLE, IN (FOX19) -
Police say a two-vehicle crash in Brookville killed a victim and left a toddler in critical condition on Monday morning.
According to authorities, the trailer of a semi tractor may have been across the center of the roadway as the driver, Harjodh Singh Chahal, 28, went around a curve around 11 a.m. A Mercury Mountaineer driven by Brittany Dennison, 24, was traveling northbound on S.R. 1 when struck by the trailer.
Dennison was pronounced dead on the scene by the Franklin County Coroner. A toddler who was a passenger in the Mountaineer was taken to Children's Hospital and is listed in critical condition. Chahal was not injured in the crash.
S.R. 1 was shut down between S.R. 101 and Reservoir Rd. for about six hours for officers to conduct their investigation. The crash remains under investigation.
