Authorities were led to a marijuana grow operation on Tuesday after responding to a possible prowler in Independence.

Officers say when they responded to the home on Mills Rd., they found the door unlocked. Officers entered the home to check for signs of burglary and found the suspect along with an active marijuana grow operation.

Devin Mason, 21, is charged with two counts of burglary in the first degree, four counts of burglary in the second degree and one count of theft over $500. Mason is accused of committing numerous burglaries in Kenton County over the last few months.

Detectives also arrested a female juvenile for burglary in the first degree.

The renters of the burglarized home, Ronnie Friskey, 34, and Gilda Trevino, were not home at the time of the burglary and haven't returned since the crime.

Friskey and Trevino are wanted for questioning relating to the marijuana grow operation.

Approximately 500 marijuana plants were removed from the residence along with equipment used to grow the marijuana and a large amount of cash.

If you have any information on the whereabouts of Ronnie Friskey and Gilda Trevion, you're urged to call the Kenton County Police Department at 859-356-3191 or Crime Stoppers at 513-352-3040.
