Man appears in court for beating wife, causing blindness

CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) -

A man was in court on Monday for allegedly beating his wife, causing blindness.

According to authorities, Ellis Lofton, 30, was arrested on November 16th after he repeatedly hit his wife in the face with his fist at their apartment.

Court documents say Lofton's wife was taken to University Hospital suffering injuries.

Doctors determined her left eye was blind, due to the assault.

Lofton was charged with felonious assault.

He is being held at the Hamilton County Justice Center on a $25,000 bond.
