CRITTENDEN, KY (FOX19) -
Authorities are investigating after a 1999 Chevrolet Cavalier was found down a hillside early Thursday
morning in Crittenden, KY.
Reports of a traffic collision
near 679 Bracht Piner Road were made to Kenton County Police around 2 a.m.
The driver, Scott Sears, 21,
was found injured and taken in an ambulance to University Hospital. His condition is still unknown.
The passenger, Timothy Webster Jr., 27, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators from the Kenton
County Police Serious Traffic Accident Reconstruction Team are
investigating the cause of the collision.
Authorities say evidence suggests the car was heading east on Bracht Piner Road when it went off the right side of the highway. Investigators believe Sears overcorrected from this, causing the car to cross the road and go off the left side.
The car struck a tree and flipped.
Both Sears and Webster were wearing seatbelts.
Anyone with information
about the accident is asked to contact Sgt. Chris Haddle at (859) 356-3191.
