ELMWOOD PLACE, OH (FOX19) -
A hearing that was scheduled Wednesday afternoon for a retraining order to stop operations of speed cameras in Elmwood Place has been postponed.
The hearing will now take place in January.
Attorney Mike Allen filed the restraining order last week in Hamilton County. He's asking a judge to cease the use of the so-called 'Robo cameras.'
The cameras clock vehicles that pass by the stationary units, and if they're speeding, a photo is taken of the vehicle's license plate.
An independent company then sends tickets for $105 to the owner of the vehicle.
Since the practice began, Elmwood Place has issued some 14,000 tickets.
