CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) -

There is finally some good news at the pump. AAA is predicting gasoline will cost less in 2013.

Gas prices this year will be less expensive than in 2012, according to AAA's gas forecast. The lower cost is a result of increased domestic oil production and lower demand.

Officials say the national average price of gasoline should peak at $3.60 to $3.80 per gallon, which compares to 2012's peak of $3.94 per gallon.

"Cincinnati area gas prices began trending lower in December and that trend is likely to continue for 2013," said AAA Corporate Public Affairs Manager Cheryl Parker. "This is welcome news for thousands of area drivers who depend on their vehicles to travel where they need to go."

AAA says Tuesday's national average was $3.30 per gallon, seven cents less than 2012 and five cents less than a month ago. In Cincinnati, Tuesday's average was lower per gallon, at $3.15.
