CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) -

A road worker is seriously injured when his is hit by a car during a chain reaction crash on I-75.

The crash occurred just before 10 a.m. Thursday morning at the ramp from 6th Street to northbound Interstate 75.

Officers say that Jami Bamberger, 19, lost control on I-75 and hit another car, driven by Samantha Routzon, 47.

Officers say Routzon's car then hit Abner Santiago, who was picking up trash on the side of the highway.

Bamberger's car went up onto an embankment where it flipped. Bamberger and her passenger, Carissa Cook, also 19, were treated and released from the hospital.

Santiago, 30, was taken to UC Medical Center for treatment. Officers say he's in serious condition.

Routzon was not injured.
