  • Hoxworth Blood Center University of Cincinnati has partnered with Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc. Delta Gamma Lambda Alumni Chapter and the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center to host a community blood drive

 

Be the Match Bone Marrow Drive Registration 

  • MLK Day of Service, January 21 and surrounding days
  • Be the Match is asking people to join the registry, pledge to hold a marrow drive, or tell friends about the importance of the registry.

Presentation of 12th Annual "Keeping the Dream Alive" Award
  • The Church of Resurrection in Bond Hill will present its award Jan12 3pm, 1619 California Ave
  • The award will be presented to someone who has kept Dr. King's dream alive in today's world and celebrates and renews our hope for the future. This year it will be given to Benjamin J. Urmston, S.J., professor emeritus of Peace and Justice Programs at Xavier

Celebrating the 30th Anniversary of the Establishment of the National Martin Luther King Jr. Day
  • The Martin Luther King Jr. Coalition announces a series of events for Martin Luther King Jr. day, Jan21
  • Schedule of the day is Ticketed breakfast sponsored by the National Underground Freedom Center and the Martin Luther King Jr. Coalition, King Legacy Breakfast at the Freedom Center (8am), Following events are free: Commemorative Civil Rights March at the Freedom Center (10:30am), Interfaith Prayer Service at Fountain Square (11am), MLK Commemorative Celebration at the Music Hall (12pm)

  • The day will include guided highlights tour of the Freedom Center's exhibitions, hands-on stations including Civil War encampment and Cotton Gin, Live exhibit interpreters, admission to special exhibition Women Hold Up Half the Sky
