One of the top high school basketball recruits in the country announced, via social media, he has verbally committed to play at UC.
Jermaine Lawrence, rated as the 19th best player in the class of 2013 according to ESPN.com, chose UC over St. John's and UNLV.
Lawrence announced the following on his Twitter page:
"My family and I would like to thank all the schools that showed interest. I'm humble to have had the experience of being recruited. After a long discussion with my parents, I've decided I'll be attending the University of Cincinnati!!!!! I'm excited to be apart of #BearcatNation.
I appreciate and thank those in New York who have supported me. It was a tough decision, however I do believe UC is a better fit for me. "
Lawrence is listed at 6'9" 190 pounds and plays at plays at Pope John XXIII High School in New Jersey.
