CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) -
Anna Louise Inn's zoning lawsuit is starting over from square one.
On Friday, an
appeals court ruled that the owner of the historic Anna Louise Inn submitted an incomplete
zoning application when they applied for a $13 million renovations permit.
Officials
with the inn say the ruling is favorable for them, because they have
already been working on re-doing the zoning, and are nearly finished with the
process.
However,
the Western and Southern Financial Group sent FOX19 a statement, arguing the
ruling is actually in their favor.
"We are gratified with the Appellate
Court's affirmation of Judge Nadel's ruling finding the City's zoning review
and approval was flawed and that Anna Louise Inn's 85 units of permanent supportive
housing, and Off The Streets program, which provides housing and social
services for women involved in prostitution, are an integrated use that must be
considered together for zoning purposes... We look forward to having an
opportunity to present our case again before the City in light of the court's ruling
requiring the City to conduct an appropriate review of the integrated use..."
Anna Louise Inn is located near Lytle Park in downtown Cincinnati and provides women with long-term housing, some of which may be leaving a life of prostitution. It was first opened in 1909.
