CARMEL, OH (FOX19)- -
Several fire crews responded to a schoolhouse fire on Sunday.
The fire broke out around 6 p.m. at the old Carmel schoolhouse on SR 753. Upon arrival, the Brushcreek Fire Department reported heavy smoke and flames, calling for six additional departments to respond.
The structure was occupied at the time of the fire but all residents were able to evacuate safely.
The amount of damage to the building is unknown at this time and the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
