OXFORD, OH (FOX19) -

Miami University athletic director David Sayler has agreed to a five-year contract extension, the university announced Monday.

Sayler hopes to secure funds that will allow Miami to begin construction on a new Student Performance Center, renovate Millett Hall and the Yager Stadium press box and suite area and break ground on a new indoor tennis center, the university said.

Starting in March, Miami will begin construction on a new indoor sports center. The 91,000-square-foot facility will feature a full length football field, netting for baseball, softball and golf, along with four 100-yard sprint lanes, a high jump area and a long jump pit.

Sayler was hired in December 2012. With the extension, he will remain Miami's athletic director through the 2018-19 season.
