Police seek suspect wanted for welfare fraud

CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) -

Police are searching for a 37-year-old woman wanted for welfare fraud.

According to Crime Stoppers, Carla Chapman offered to sell her food stamp card to an acquaintance. She informed the acquaintance that card was valued at $113. After receiving $50 for the card from her acquaintance, Crime Stoppers states Chapman reported the card stolen.

When the acquaintance tried to use the card, he was unable to do so because it was deactivated.

Chapman admitted to selling her card on previous occasions to pay for items not authorized for purchase using the card.

Prior charges against Chapman include soliciting prostitution and multiple drug-related charges.

Chapman was last known to live in the 2300 block of Losantiville Avenue in Golf Manor.
