Services set for UC basketball great Connie Dierking

SYCAMORE TOWNSHIP, OH (FOX19) -

Funeral services have been scheduled for University of Cincinnati basketball great Conrad "Connie Dierking" who died Sunday.

Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Friday at Thomas-Justin Memorial, 7500 Montgomery Road, Sycamore Township.

Mass of Christian Burial is 10 a.m. Saturday at All Saints Catholic Church, 8939 Montgomery Road, Sycamore Township. 

Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 11000 Montgomery Road, Montgomery.


The Brooklyn-born Dierking starred for the Bearcats in the late 1950s.
The 6-foot-10 center was a UC teammate of Oscar Robertson, and they were reunited with the Cincinnati Royals of the National Basketball Association in the late 1960s.
    
Dierking, 77, had been a 1958 first round pick of the Syracuse Nationals, and also played for the Philadelphia 76ers and San Francisco Warriors over more than a decade in the NBA.
    
He is survived by wife Robyn and their five children.
