LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -
A Kentucky woman reported missing by her family last month was spotted on the Las Vegas Strip on Thursday night, and police do not believe she is in danger.
The family of Jena Chisholm started a Facebook page dedicated to their search for her. Her aunt, Jeni McArtor, who is in charge of the Facebook page, said 20-year-old Jena Chisholm was last seen at her home in Florence, KY, where she lives with her father.
McArtor said the father awoke Dec. 20 to a note that read Jena Chisholm was staying with a friend and would return home in time for a doctor's appointment the day after Christmas. She said Chisholm never returned.
McArtor said the family used an app on Jena Chisholm's cell phone to determine that she was recently in the Las Vegas, Albuquerque and Los Angeles areas.
Tom Scheben, spokesman for the Boone County Sheriff's Office in Kentucky, said Jena Chisholm's dog was found tied to a fence outside the Diamond Inn, which is across the street from Mandalay Bay, on Dec. 26. He said a cleaning crew found the dog inside one of the rooms and put it outside.
On Friday morning, Chisholm's mother told FOX5 that her car had been found at the Siegel Suites on South Cambridge Street, just east of the Las Vegas Strip. Police did not immediately confirm the information.
By Friday afternoon, Office Laura Meltzer, of Las Vegas Metro police, said Chisholm was spotted at a casino on the Las Vegas Strip about 10 p.m. Thursday. Chisholm's mother told FOX5 that her daughter was spotted at the Quad Resort and Casino in the company of a man authorities described as homeless.
"From what we have seen, there is no reason to suspect foul play," Meltzer said. "Jena Chisholm is not believed to be endangered."
Jena Chisholm was described as white, 5'1" tall and 110 pounds, with light blond hair and brown eyes. According to the flyer, Jena Chisholm is believed to be driving a 2006 powder-blue Volkswagen Beetle, bearing Kentucky license plate number 316-MYB.
A picture sent to FOX5 early Friday morning by a viewer at the Siegel Suites showed a car matching the description being towed from the parking lot.
Anyone with information regarding Chisholm's whereabouts was asked to contact Las Vegas Metro police at 702-828-3111.
