One of the companies
behind the federal healthcare website is getting the boot. The Obama
Administration is cutting ties with CGI
Federal for its work as the main contractor on healthcare.gov.
A source familiar with the decision says that the company's
contract was up and was not renewed.
FOX19 asked Secretary Kathleen Sebelius, head of Health and
Human Services, if CGI Federal would be held accountable for the awful rollout
of healthcare.gov during her visit
to Cincinnati State in October. She didn't directly answer our question.
FOX19: "But should the contractor of the website be held
accountable? And will you do that?"
Sebelius: "Well, we certainly are working with all --- there
are a variety of contractors --- as well as internal experts and outside
experts who are all working on this project going forward."
CGI Federal came under fire following healthcare.gov's sputtering launch in which
many Americans couldn't even log-on. A company executive testified in October
before Congress and denied any wrongdoing by her company.
