Candy Crush developer trademarks the word "candy"

According to Mashable, the app developer of Candy Crush Saga (the most addicting game ever) has trademarked the word "Candy." King.com Limited filed a trademark claim for the word almost a year ago, and it was finally approved by the United States Patent and Trademark Office last Wednesday. Mashable said app developers with "candy" in the title are reportedly getting emails from Apple asking them to remove their apps from the App Store --- which is protocol for the company when a claim is filed.

Texas police officer makes this kid's day

Jermaine Ford was tossing a football by himself in Texas. Sgt. Ariel Soltura of the Rosenberg Police Department spotted the 10-year-old, and instead of driving by, the officer pulled over and spent two minutes with Ford playing a quick game of catch. It made his day.

The dash cam in Sgt. Soltura's cruiser captured the sweet moment, and the Rosenberg Police Department posted the footage to its Facebook page. As of Tuesday morning, it had been shared more than 6,800 times.

It's SNOW beautiful outside.
