CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) -

There's a big renovation coming to the Sam Adams Brewery in Over-the-Rhine.

In June, Cincinnati City Council approved new plans to develop a Brewery District in the heart of Over-the-Rhine. Aiming to capitalize on alcohol-tourism, the Brewery District hopes to repopulate the neighborhood with beer festivals, a beirgarten, tours, and new breweries, according to the committee overseeing the plan.

With the city's revitalized interest in beer, Samuel Adams Brewery will be putting $6 million worth of improvements into the Central Parkway facility. The Boston-based company plans to split the project between $3.5 million towards a beer storage building and $2.3 million in new beer storage tanks.

The brewery will hold 14 large tanks with the possibility for six more tanks to be added. Nine tanks will also be added to their bottling and packing facility.

The Cincinnati location is one of three places across the nation to brew Samuel Adams.
