SLIDELL, LA (WAFB) -
Sometimes it pays to babysit. A Wisconsin couple visiting Louisiana to babysit their grandchildren last week went home with a nice paycheck.
Lottery officials say 57-year-old Donald Marek and his wife JoAnn of Frederic, Wis. bought a Quick Pick ticket at a Race Trac in Slidell, La.
All five of his numbers matched, but he missed on the red Power Ball number.
After taxes, the grandparents walked away with $700,000. Marek says he plans to put the money toward retirement.
The store received a one-time selling bonus of $10,000.
