ST. BERNARD, OH (FOX19) -

Roger Bacon High School on Friday announced that Steve Rossi has been named its new athletic director.

Rossi, a certified athletic administrator, has eight years of experience leading high school athletic departments.

Prior to joining Roger Bacon, Rossi was the director of athletics and student leadership for Yellow Springs High School.

He also spent five years in Cincinnati Public Schools. At Western Hills High School, he served as an assistant athletic director. He was the athletic director at Aiken High School. While at Aiken, the school became one of the first schools in Cincinnati Public Schools to win the Harold A. Meyer Award for Sportsmanship, Ethics, and Integrity.

Rossi is a graduate of Bishop Fenwick High School, received his undergraduate degree from the University of Dayton and has a master's in education from Xavier University.

His father, John "Butch" Rossi taught, coached and was an administrator at Bishop Fenwick for 41 years, leading them to the Class A 1982 state basketball championship – the same year Roger Bacon won the Class AAA Championship.

Rossi lives in Wyoming with his wife, Melissa, a 1991 Roger Bacon graduate, and their son Sam.
