TATE TOWNSHIP, OH (FOX19) -

An 18-month old boy is in stable condition after a near drowning incident Monday at a Tate Township pool.

Cye Berwanger fell into an above ground pool around 5:30 p.m. at a home in the 300 block of Brown Street, according to police. First responders reported he was unconscious and a medical helicopter transported him to Cincinnati Children's Hospital.

Police say Cye had been with his father Mike Berwanger in a detached garage when the father discovered the child had left. He quickly found Cye in the pool, located behind the garage, and administered CPR, according to Clermont County Sheriff Rodenberg.

Bethel Authorities say the boy is in stable condition at the hospital and is breathing on his own.

"They're just very nice people.  Like I said, they never ever leave their kids unattended.  They've lived there for about two, maybe three years.  But, when you see the kids, you see the mom and dad," said Ken Harris, a neighbor who spoke with FOX19.

Police say they do not believe foul play was involved.
